Right of Boom, a cybersecurity community focused on managed service providers, has partnered with the Center for Internet Security and Antisyphon Training to launch a new course aimed at helping these providers master essential cybersecurity controls. The course includes three hundred modules, a lab component, and a one hundred-question certification test, making it a comprehensive and affordable training option. The course is created to help providers showcase their competency in cybersecurity, addressing the increasing demand for expertise in the field as cyber threats grow more prevalent.
Why do we care?
I don’t consider it particularly valuable for customers. This requires marketing investment that certification organizations have not undertaken.
This course is notable for several reasons: Ties to CIS Controls – CIS frameworks are highly regarded in cybersecurity, making this course particularly relevant for clients focused on compliance. Practical Labs – Unlike purely theoretical training, the incorporation of lab work emphasizes real-world application, which is essential for MSPs tasked with securing client environments.
Cost-Effectiveness – Many cybersecurity certifications, such as CISSP or CEH, come with hefty price tags. If this course offers a budget-friendly option for MSPs to enhance their teams’ skills and showcase security proficiency, it may experience strong uptake. This will be one to watch, but widespread impact isn’t guaranteed yet.
