Per new Canalys Data, In a significant market shift, ConnectWise has lost its long-held position as the number one provider for remote monitoring and management, a title it maintained for 29 years, according to Canalys. Kaseya has now taken the lead in market share. However, Kaseya’s victory is tempered by its recent drop from the Champions quadrant of Canalys’ RMM/PSA Leadership Matrix, with NinjaOne and HaloPSA now entering the competition. Notably, NinjaOne has experienced impressive growth, increasing by fifty-four percent year-over-year, overtaking N-able to claim the third spot. Canalys Chief Analyst Jay McBain highlighted that Kaseya is focusing on pricing strategies and bundling services, while ConnectWise is concentrating on its Asio platform.
Kaseya is aggressive about pricing to win customers. Pricing flexibility and bundled offerings are attractive in the short term but can create challenges for MSPs over time if the perceived value or innovation lags. For service providers, Kaseya’s approach is an opportunity for cost management. Still, they need to weigh dependency risks, and, notably, they have been moved out of the Champions quadrant, raising questions about execution and customer satisfaction, which could be exploited by ConnectWise if their Asio investment pays off in accelerated product development.
But here’s the headline: Evaluate vendors beyond market share and focus on sustainable innovation, customer satisfaction, and alignment with your business goals.
