Let’s start with a new research report by Kaspersky, digging into the state of MSPs.
Their top findings:
The most important item MSPs look for in vendors… Price. 89% of respondents. For security vendors, 58% are looking for 24×7 availability, and 42% cite being willing to spend 11-15% of their product cost on extended technical support. Beyond that, price point, features & functionality, and support are tied for second, 88%.
Interestingly, in the survey, 90% of total respondents said they require customers to have cyber insurance.
Why do we care?
There’s a brutal honesty in this report that I have to respect. Providers care about getting a reasonably priced product with the right features and support. That’s the standout. Everything else is a distant third and beyond. Vendors, you can make all this noise about your other stuff, like your community, your sales, marketing support, your education… but at the end of the day, it’s a product at a good price.
