I wanted to mention Apple’s new Lockdown mode for iOS this fall. It’s a specific model designed for a limited number of users explicitly targeted by hackers that reduces functionality in exchange for security. It’s an aggressive lockdown, too – disabling message attachment types, link previews, complex web technologies like just-in-time javascript compilation, wired connections with a computer or accessory, configuration profiles being blocked, and no enrollment in MDM while the mode is on.
Why do we care?
File this away under useful tactics.
