This is a blocking and tackling note – Zoom is lifting it’s standard 40-minute limit on free video chats for Thanksgiving Day. It’s temporary, from midnight November 26th until 6AM Eastern on the 27th.
The company is additionally moving to control zoombombing – a new feature now allows to “suspend participant activities”, which allows you to suspend everything and all breakout rooms end, allowing you to shutdown zoombombing.
Why do we care?
This is purely tactical, but the first bit of news is useful for customer relationships to offer information for marketing to your customers. The second is educational, for the same reason.
And to stop that family member zoombombing you next week.
